Charged Water

Simon is a German living in Australia, by chance he came into contact with a startup that wanted to create an electric foil board (short eFoil). He became one of their main developers and therefore is known in the scene as the OG – ‘The Original’. Developing and testing the boundaries of what’s possible for many years, and creating his own parts and wing-foil-combinations, lead him to be envied and adored by leading riders and companies in the scene.

So what are eFoils? They are a new kind of watersport, where you combine disciplines of surfing and foiling with a motorized board, which effortless lets you experience the feeling of flying without any noise, in a clean and energy efficient way. So far still only known to rather a small group of people, Simons wish is to make this sport a widely available and accepted one, as he believes this is the future of watersport – without burning fuel and without any creating any noise.

Simon shares his story, what he loves about this sport and how he develops his own path in this evolving action sport industry. We follow him around in his home playground in the waters of the East Coast of Australia, to secrect surf spots, to his adventures in Greece and to the ‘inofficial world championships’ of eFoiling in Dubai.
