For many urban office workers, surfing has become a symbol of freedom on social media.
But can those who passionately embrace this sport truly find pure joy in a coastal village?

To explore this, we traveled to a small island in Guangdong, southern China. Our cameras followed these Chinese surfers, documenting their daily lives. Young Chinese who are deeply connected to the sea and surfing, and their relationship with the earth and the sport.
